Troop 12's scout leadership (PLC) has set the following goals and expectations for the upcoming year. These goals and expectations were established at this year's annual planning retreat. The expectation is based on each member of Troop 12: scout, leaders, troop committee, and parents will help in their support to make this another successful and exciting year.

Troop Mission:

Troop 12 seeks to provide a fun and structured environment in which scouts learn through experience, outdoor skills and take responsibility in leadership roles. By encouraging everyone to "do their part" (that includes parents and Scoutmasters!!) in the troop we hope to have the boys lead the troop and lead it successfully. Scouts and leaders make a commitment to do our best to ensure that everyone advances through scouts and that the troop communicates and plans to the best of our ability. But most of all, troop 12 seeks to provide an all around good experience for the boys while having fun and camping out.

PLC Expectations:

  1. Everyone "Do their part" to make troop successful-Parents and scoutmasters too
  2. Clearly define scout roles and responsibilities through set assignments to better understand  leadership positions and responsibilities
  3. Get scouts exited and enthusiastic about the troop, trips and meetings
  4. Help new scouts get to first class as quickly as possible and help older scouts have the opportunity to advance by offering leadership opportunities and a well planned program
  5. Ensure the Troop communicates with each other
  6. Evaluate each activity to determine why it was successful or unsuccessful to ensure we are better prepared for future activities.
  7. Better organization in collecting forms (permission slips and health forms) and money for trips as well as having troop permits ready in advance. This can be accomplished by starting the process 3 weeks prior to every activity.
  8. Be Prepared -Come Prepared to be a scout and a leader. This includes uniforms, reports, scout books, a proper scout attitude, participate, and have the right equipment, supplies, and materials to be successful.
  9. Be accountable for what you do as a scout and the commitments you make to your fellow scouts. In short, live by the Scout Oath and Law and follow the Scout motto.
  10. Have Fun!!
